Autumn & Winter Dessert Table Ideas

With the summer wedding season over it’s time for me to start creating some autumnal delights. As much as I love the spring and summer colour palettes, this time of year opens up a richer range of hues and new possibilities in design concepts. Today, I want to share some autumn/winter dessert table ideas – just right for an autumn/winter wedding, or celebration.

Golden Touch

The autumn/winter season is a time for cosying up under warm blankets, reading books by the fire, and indulging in comforting treats. Therefore, it’s the perfect time to bring rich colours and decadent textures to your wedding or celebration dessert table.

Jewel tones, deep reds, and regal purples all make for standout designs. Add gold into the mix and your dessert table will not only sing of autumn/winter but of luxury and exceptional quality too.

The golden touch within this dessert table idea is the perfect example. Although the muted, soft purple gives a hint of light, the rich gold gives the overall concept depth and warmth.

For a trend-led and couture display, you could use a burgundy or dark green velvet backdrop and tablecloth. Creating the ultimate, luxurious dessert table for your autumn or winter event.

Frosted Sparkle

With colder air and frosty mornings, the autumn/winter season can also be represented by an all-white dessert table. Using the addition of a frosted sparkle in the design then takes the concept to a whole other level.

Edible sparkle has a way of adding an indulgent feel to any display. It instantly gets your guests’ taste buds tingling. Just look at this example to see what I mean. An all-white dessert table, with a frosted sparkle, feels contemporary, exquisite, and delectable all at the same time.

In this particular dessert table, the tiered wedding cake – decorated with my signature sugar flowers – brings a delightful focus to the overall display. Keeping the serveware white and clear further emphasises the frosted, luxe feel.

Evergreens

Nothing quite says autumn/winter like an evergreen tree. Taking that deep and muted tone through to your design will make your dessert table equally appropriate for the season.

To prevent your display feeling too heavy or dark – pair the evergreen with a base of natural cream/ivory and a hint of gold. This colour combination really lifts the design. It’s both sophisticated and romantic, and it encapsulates an autumn/winter feel in an elegant way.

There is no better styling accessory for this dessert table concept than fresh evergreen stems. Gold stands, cream serveware, and natural wood all add to the indulgent romance.

It’s All in The Detail

No dessert table would be complete without a variety of delicious treats, and it’s these little edible items than can make all the difference to your display. Not only do they give you the opportunity to be creative with your serveware (like this classic teacup and saucer), they themselves act as mini canvases for added detail.

Taking inspiration from a tiered wedding cake or the overall concept, little details can make your treats come alive. It’s this kind of attention to detail that can elevate a dessert table from average to luxury. It’s also one of the reasons I’ve won awards for my designs.

The simple brush stroke of edible gold paint, on the macarons above, adds a stylish streak to a dessert table; and the sparkle covered cake balls below look beautifully sweet – just right for a frosted display.

Even the delicate touch of silver leaf can be enough to bring an interesting detail to the table. These modern meringue kisses would be perfectly partnered with many autumn/winter dessert table ideas.

If that has got you dreaming of your own autumn/winter dessert table, and your mouth-watering, then book a consultation and tasting so we can have a chat over a warming cuppa, and some delicious cake.
