Spring is around the corner and with it comes the start of wedding season. Over the winter months, when I’ve not been designing winter wedding cakes, I’ve been spending time creating stylish new wedding cake designs to inspire brides and grooms on their wedding planning journey. Today I’m sharing a peek at a few of these creative wedding cakes with you…
Nothing says romance like a love poem, so why not have your choice hand-painted onto your wedding cake? This design breaks the rules by combining tiers of different sizes and textures, but still brings the softness of a romantic wedding through its use of calligraphy, feature floral sketch, grey silk ribbon and pretty pink sugar magnolias. Perfect for a couple looking for something different without being abstract.
Break all the rules with this creative, cut-out cake. This design uses a simple colour palette of white and silver so as not to overshadow the main feature – the romantic sugar rose set inside the heart of the wedding cake. With echoes of Beauty and the Beast, this is sure to be a talking point amongst your guests.
If you’re a fan of a bit of sparkle, this wedding cake design could be for you. Covered top to bottom in edible glitter, the design is set off by wafer paper hydrangeas. By keeping it clear of any other decoration, it keeps it classy and elegant while maintaining all the shimmery goodness!
Using an abundance of sugar flowers and foliage, this wedding cake design also combines blush pink tones, pretty lace and smooth silk texture to become a picture of femininity. The diagonal direction of the sugar flowers works perfectly to offset the horizontal lines of the tiers, giving it a clean, modern and stylish feel.
Don’t be afraid to step outside of traditional wedding cake designs. These four designs show you there are many ways to break the rules but still have a romantic, stylish wedding cake that wows your guests. Make sure you follow me on Instagram to keep up to date of even more new designs.
